Joseph P. Newhouse is the John D. MacArthur professor of health policy and management at Harvard and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. An elected member of the Institute of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, he has served as the vice-chair of the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission and founding editor of the Journal of Health Economics.
